How to know if the TB bacteria is drug resistant as xray and ct scan shows possibility of cochs but AFB SPUTUM both tests and GENEXPERT result shows as negative. Can we relay on chest xray and ct scan and think it as TB.

Diagnosis of TB can be made on clinical symptoms and investigation..even if afb and gene expert  reports are negative....adequacy of sample is an issue....so under expert guidance, cxray and ct scan along with ur clinical symptoms, can diagnose TB...if still any doubt u can consult  online..

Once AFB sputum and genxpert are negative Chances of drug resistant tb is less( and no tb medications taken before) Can rely on chest x ray and ct after correlating with clinical symptoms

Pl repeat the sputum tests.Drug resistant tb is not possible. Depending upon the symptoms, xray,ct ,and clinical signs,you can diagnose tb,and treat.
