Does pyrazinamide reduces the total time for tuberculosis drug regime (As per W.H.O tuberculosis regime) by two months? Why doctors don't prescribe pyrazinamide(i asked many patients including me from 3 diff t.b specialist doctors)if it reduces total time ? Can a patient be prescribed for the same after intensive phase?

Every regimen has pyrazinamide in India if the patient has drug sensitive disease. I don’t know what makes you think that it is not given. Please check with your doctor why he didn’t prescribe it to you. He may have certain reasons. Also make sure you are seeing a pulmonologist and not a general physician or if it is a GP then he should have a minimum qualifications of MBBS. Besides I would suggest to stop googling because the information you gather can be overwhelming and create confusion such as now.
