My daughter is having a problem of hair pulling from last two years.When she s studying or watching TV, she stars pulling hair.We are trying to stop her from hair pulling but she s pulling hair whenever she us alone or doing something with concentration.Now her front and top portion of head is completely bald.We are consulting wd dermatologist.After taking medicines, new hair comes but agaoshe starts pulling. We are very much worried.Now she s fifteen .Someone tells thst she is having TRICHOTILLOMANIA. Whom should we consult and how to stop ds

Don't worry ,we can do varieties of interventions including pharmacotherapy and some training as well .your daughter needs to find out the triggering situation 1st,then we can train her to avoid  hair pulling at that moment along with that some medication will do wonder.

See The thing is trichotillomania is triggered with anxiety and stress. So maybe it is related to her studies or curriculum. You can treat it through psychiatric medication, but also the most important thing is therapy because she needs to have a conversation. Regarding what is troubling her, what is on her mind so that we can solve it, we can help her understand that there are better ways to deal and generalize her negative energy and and how to make her thoughts positive.
