Pain and swelling is a sign of infection. The wisdom tooth might require surgical removal. First consult your dentist for prescription analgesics and antibiotics for your pain and swelling. Once you recover, fix an appointment for extraction. If ignored, the wisdom tooth will give recurrent episodes of pain and swelling causing you discomfort every few months.
