I am suddenly having swelling in my gums and its paining. Please suggest some meds. Also can I go for cleaning and polishing now?

Hello. Kindly attach photographs of the concerned region Swelling in the gums can be due to abscess, inflammation or infection of the tooth. You may require an x-ray of the tooth in the region for proper diagnosis. Kindly visit a dentist for definitive diagnosis and treatment

Hello, tooth and gum pain can be due to local infection ,caries,periodontits,abcess etc. I will suggest you not to go for scaling and cleaning right now. For proper diagnosis please share some photos of the affected area so that we can know whether it is a tooth pain or gum pain .You can take the following medicines if you are not having any underlying health issue or on any daily medication or any allergy. If you have please share with us before taking the medicines.

Tab Amoxclav 625 mg 1tab twice a day with 8hrs duration for 3 days Tab ibuprofen 400mg 1 tab twice a day with 4-6hrs difference for 3 days .

Hello Sudden swelling in gums as well as pain can be due to any reason it might be due to an infection in gums for which you definitely have to visit to get a round of teeth cleaning or scaling done if it is specific to some area or a region it might be related to any tooth infection that needs to be properly checked probably x-rays will be required to specify what is the diagnosis and what treatment is needed
