I have severe tooth pain and I had undergone root canal 2 years back. But the top had gone. Need to refill or root canal again?

Wasn't a crown/cap placed after the root canal? It is mandatory to do so after, else tooth will definitely break as you have described. Your treatment can be planned only after a dental checkup with an x-ray if needed. Good luck. :-)

If the tooth shows reinfection in the X-ray then root canal should be done again, otherwise restoration and crown is advised

Take 2 tablet of Ketorol-DT dissolved in little water for immediate pain relief. Was a cap placed after RCT? If yes there might be a re infection or the problem can also be from an adjacent tooth. Many possibilities.
Next Steps
Suggest you to get a xray done so that we can pin point the real cause of pain
Health Tips
Don’t ignore the pain as it might lead to swelling
