Tooth ache
Got a root canal done in my back molar about 5 years back and now it is hurting. There's no sensitivity but there is pain. Hurts when I clench or bite down on it. Otherwise no pain. The gums surrounding it are slightly swollen. What could the issue possibly be? Do I have to redo the root canal treatment again? Is it a infection or a fracture?

Hello, As per your symptoms, there may be high filling because of which there is problem on biting. But as it was having no pain earlier for 5 years. and the pain has just started, it will be better if u get it checked once. and lets take an xray and see whats the problem and how was the rct done. that will give us an idea whether there is an infection problem of teeth or a gum problem. till then plz avoid eating from that side. and do salt water rinse.
Next Steps
