Unlike cancer due to short history of smoking. It could also be that you are resistant to the antibiotic taken or could be due to short course taken. Better to review once more and get it evaluated. In case of gastritis, you can have similar throat pain/discomfort. So need to get it evaluated once more.

Unlikely due to short history, avoid smoking, cold and spicy food, do warm saline gargles Take a second opinion if you’re still feeling sick

Sir start with warm saline gargle or betadine gargle If it doesn’t resolve by 1 week then we can think of other things but stop smoking as you have throat infection and cancer is last diagnosis but first stop smoking and do gargle and follow
