Tobacco addiction
I have been adicted to tobacco since last five years which started as the substitute to get rid of smoking habit. However, my smoking habit habit have been reduced very much but I became adicted to tobacco. How to get rid of tobacco addiction?

Hi Getting rid of tobacco is very difficult. There are medications and systemic plans to help you with it. However you may plan on gradual reduction of tobacco by cutting down 10 % of non essential tobacco use per week. If it doesn't work contact Psychiatrist

Detailed history from the patient regarding the complaints and substance dependence like amount taken ,duration and withdrawal symptoms is to be taken. Drugs do help in Tobacco dependence are available but are to be used under supervision or a mental health professional. Sometimes patients are not able to get rid of the problems, they can be put on substitutes/Substitution therapy is also recommended.
