The tablet you are taking is an antidepressant belonging to class SSRI, which is generally safe to be used with oral contraceptive pills and doesn’t interact with each other. You need to consult a Gynaecologist to discuss and start your OCPs after understanding the benefits and the risk and follow up.

Combined contraceptive pills are usually started within the first five days of your period for immediate protection. You take one tablet at roughly the same time every day, and depending on the pack, there is either a seven day break or none at all before the next strip. Common early side effects are mild nausea, breast tenderness, mood changes, or spotting between periods, which usually settle within two to three cycles.
Next Steps
Ask your gynaecologist whether this fits with your current medicine, your health history and what you want from contraception, since the right pill and whether it is safe alongside what you are already taking needs that review.
Health Tips
Stop and seek care right away if you get sudden leg swelling, sudden breathlessness, severe headaches or vision changes after starting any contraceptive pill.
