Tightness in chest after rib resection
A few years ago I had to lose a rib to get my throat issue fixed. I find that there's always this tightness on that side now, I find it harder to breathe than before, that I breathe shallower. I worry about sleep apnea due to it.. I am not sure if it is the scar tissue itself, or if my side has hardened up there. I've tried to stretch and knead the tissue there, but have not made any significant progress. Is this something I need Physical Therapy for, or can I do it myself at home?

Hi, Ideally you should see a physician personally for better advice. However,  please try pranayam, the breathing exercises. They will help to revitalize your lungs and remove the scar tissue if any. Medicines You can try following medicines Poonarnavadi kwath 10 ml + Kamadudha 2 tabs early morning empty stomach. Avoid eating for 30 mins after taking the morning medicine. Trayodhanga guggal 2 tabs + Bringarajasva 10 ml after lunch and dinner. Kantakariyavleha 10 gm with warm milk before bed. Avoid cabbage, cauliflower, brinjal and oily food for best results. Regards
