Thyroid senior citizen
Dear Doctors,
My mother takes NEO-MERCAZOLE-10 for hyperthyroidism , half tablet daily morning. Today her tsh report shows 6.91 and was informed to discontinue the medicines.
Need a second opinion as can the medicine be discontinued. I am worried because of her age 75 years. Attached is the report

Typically need to know why on it. Ie what was the cause of hyperthyroidism. If it’s Graves then lifelong treatment may be required. If it’s anything else then to stop and reassess as she may be hypothyroid permanently.
