In case of hypothyroidism treatment consist of directly giving thyroxin hormone (eltroxin /thyronorm) to the patient. Hormone levothyroxine is synthetically prepared but it is exactly similar. It is a replacement of natural T4 Hormone. Imo she should continue taking the same. Dose depends on her TSH values and weight . So consult any diabetologist or endocrinologist for titrating exact dosage for getting best results.
