Yesterday night while i was walking i twisted my neck towards right in upward direction and since then after some time i started feeling pain in throat while swallowing something. The pain is mostly when i swallow by moving my neck on left side and the pain is felt towards the right side and it felt like something is stretching from the neck towards the ear. I did gargles with disprin and also drank warm water since then and now i am feeling much relief but there is some salt like taste in my throat constantly with some cough like feeling. I am also undergoing dyspepsia with acidity so i sometimes develop sore throat due to acid for which a elopathic doctor gave me benadryl dr lozenges which gets me relieved also. There is no other symptom. And i would like to mention that i drank cold water day before yesterday night due to which in morning i had mild feeling of sore throat but it got relieved much after having benadryl lozenges. Can there be thyroid issue?

Not really. Thyroid is a gland that is located in the neck in the midline. It does not cause any issues with the throat unless it has grown big and is compressing the structures inside. The sore throat which you are getting on and off is mostly because of the dyspepsia you are suffering from. We call it Laryngopharyngeal reflux.
