Throat pain
I am having pain in throat for last 10 days without any fever and with little cough. I have complete azithromycin course for 7days without any fever montair LC and OTC pain killers. After taking pain killer it is relaxed but comes back again. Kindly suggest.

Pain comes back or cough? If it’s throat discomfort , you can do betadine mouth gargling twice daily.

Hi, I am Dr Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT. Pain in throat and little cough. It may be due to throat irritation. Causes of throat irritation are : • Viral infections (like common cold, flu) • Bacterial infections (like streptococcal pharyngitis) • Allergies (pollen, dust, animal dander) • Dry air (especially in winters or air-conditioned rooms) • Pollution and smoke (including cigarette smoke) • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) • Postnasal drip (due to sinusitis or rhinitis) • Voice strain (excessive talking, shouting, or singing) • Exposure to irritants (chemicals, strong odors) • Tonsillitis • Laryngitis • Dehydration • Certain medications (like ACE inhibitors) • Tumors (rarely, in chronic cases)
