The requirement of root canal treatment will be based on the amount of dentin or pulp exposure present clinically. A clinical photograph of the tooth and an x-ray will be the tools for making the appropriate diagnosis. Whether it is a front tooth or a back tooth and whether the trauma which broke the tooth has also caused any bone damage are the other questions that need to be answered.
