You need to physically protect yourself from the sun by using caps or Hats. You also need to apply sunscreen (Sunmate or Rayback or Suncross or FaceGuard or Ekran Soft 50 spf) routinely every 3-4 hours to make sure the effect stays with reliability. Also if tanning is present then peeling can be done to lighten the skin tone again. Hope this is helpful.

Apply physical sunscreen having spf of 50+ and reapply every 3-4 hours. Also opt for umbrella or Cap as additional measures if possible.
You may visit a qualified dermatologist for improvement in existing tan.
