The darkening of skin can be multiple causes like tanning, vitamin B12 deficiency, addisonian pigmentation, acanthosis nigricans, lichen planus pigmentosus, rhiel's melasnosis or several other causes. A proper assessment and examination will help ascertain the proper cause. For loss of glow & dullness - there are antioxidant therapies like glutathione , lasers for rejuvenation, PRP therpy for facial rejuvenation , peels, etc. Kojic cream alone is safe but less effective. You can try using this for a month twice daily on the dark spot. The BEST cream would depend upon the cause. Dark circles are a very notorious condition and do not respond easily to treatment. In patients with dark circles certain underlying conditions need to be ruled out like nutritional deficiencies or certain inflammatory conditions. In case the secondary causes are present, they need to be addressed 1st to get a better response to treatment. Also, dark circles respond slowly and you have to be patient with the treatment and continue applying the cream for a few months to see some change. Avoid rubbing the eyes as it will increase pigmentation. You can try using Brunda Under eye cream or RoC Sublime cream or Under Eyez 20 gel or Ega cream or WonderEye cream for a few months. Now-a-days many chemical peels also offers realistic promise- like glycolic acid and lactic acid peels. Dermapen in combination with mesotherapy also helps. I would advise getting a consult done online privately with pictures or meeting a certified dermatologist to rule out any aggravating coexisting conditions. Hope this is helpful.
