Hi all,
I have been taking homeopathic medicines for the past 6–7 months to treat chronic acidity and stomach burning, which has also led to significant weight loss. I also have clinical depression, which was under control with antidepressants. However, after starting Phosphorus 0/4 and 0/5 LM (as a constitutional remedy) on an empty stomach in the morning, my mental health symptoms began to worsened and remained for a month
Some doctors have mentioned that such aggravation can happen with homeopathy, while my homeopathic doctor said it should not. I have since stopped the remedy, and my condition has improved.
I would like to understand:
1. When and Why does aggravation typically occur in homeopathy?
2. If I consider homeopathic treatment for clinical depression with the aim of stopping antidepressants, is aggravation common?
3. What precautions should I take?

Then it must've not been your constitutional medicine....
Aggravation doesn't necessarily occur in homeopathy....and it impossible that what occurred to you was aggravation.... because homeopathic aggravations don't go this long unless the medicine, its potency or its dosage are wrong.
Depression can be treated permanently without allopathy using homeopathy alone.
Kindly Give me the complete case for further prescription.

1. Such an aggravation may occur if the remedy is wrong or if the potency selected is too strong/incorrect.
2. Aggravation is not a necessity for homoeopathic cure/treatment. We have multiple cases where we have gradually and completely withdrawn antidepressants.
3. General precautions pertain to the method of taking medication and the gap between food and medication which might have been explained to you by your doctor. Other precautions are specific to the case or diagnosis that is being treated.

Hello, you already have anxiety issue & knowing more about the medicine & reading about it we tend to relate the symptoms of the medicine to be present. Pls trust your doctor and be patience. Your symptoms will reduce gradually. It is very much unlikely that 0/1 & 0/4 potencies to aggravate. So i dont think it is medicinal aggravation so stay with your doctor & trust his process. And you dont have to do any precautions while taking Homoeopathy except to follow the doctors advice. To know more and for any other concern you can call us or reach us online.
There can be two reasons
Stopping your antidepressant abruptly can aggravate your complaints - it has to be tapered down gradually
Homoeopathy tend to hav aggravation in advance cases but it’s a good sign that the medicine prescribed was correct your treating doctor can manage this aggravation
Hello, thank you for sharing your experience so openly.
Firstly, it's great that you're being mindful about your health and trying to understand what's happeningâthat's the most important step.
1. When and Why Does Aggravation Typically Occur in Homeopathy?
In homeopathy, aggravation refers to a temporary intensification of existing symptoms after starting a remedy. This can happen for a few reasons:
The remedy is correctly chosen and your body is responding to it by pushing symptoms to the surface.
The potency or dose may be too strong for your current sensitivity.
Sometimes, emotional symptoms may briefly resurface, especially if they were previously suppressed.
However, not everyone experiences aggravation, and not all practitioners believe it should occurâespecially if the remedy, potency, and repetition are well-matched to your case.
2. If I Consider Homeopathic Treatment for Clinical Depression, Is Aggravation Common?
Depression is a delicate condition, and homeopathic treatment can help, but it must be approached carefully.
Aggravation is not always common, but in emotionally sensitive cases, there might be a brief emotional shift or upheaval as the body and mind respond.
Thatâs why itâs crucial to work with a homeopath who has experience in mental health cases, and who collaborates with your psychiatrist (if needed).
3. What Precautions Should I Take?
Never abruptly stop your antidepressants unless advised by your psychiatrist.
Inform your homeopath of all current medications and any prior psychological history.
If you're sensitive, your homeopath may start with a lower potency or infrequent dosing.
Monitor and journal your symptomsâthis helps fine-tune your remedy and avoid aggravation.
Always report changes immediately, especially any worsening of mood or suicidal thoughts.
In your case, it seems like the LM potency may have been too frequent or strong for your system, which can happen. I'm glad to hear youâre feeling better now. With the right care and supervision, homeopathy can still be an effective part of your healing journey.
Wishing you strength and balance ahead.
Regards.
