Swollen lump of fluid after accident
About 3 weeks ago I had an accident by tipping an ATV on its side. Upon tipping it I caused a lot of damage to my ankle area that is receiving ongoing medical attention however I also had a case of road rash on the side of my hip, around the fatty part of my upper leg/butt however the wound is completely gone but there is still a very large lump that is protruding and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. There was quite a significant bruise on it before however that has also subsided. There seems to be fluid of some kind in this lump and I'm just wondering if it's normal and what I can do to get rid of it? I've tried to drain it but only a small about of blood comes out at a time and it is very tender when pressing on it.

If there is no redness around the area and it is not too painful, please leave it alone. It will reduce by itself, but it will take a long time. The body's mechanism will make it better gradually. If you try to drain it, there is a high chance that it will get infected and you will have bigger problem. Take simple painkillers and use hot fomentation like a hot water bottle on it. Be patient and it will settle down.
