My 5 year son is suffering from swollen gum pain and is taking Ibrufen syrup; Please suggest relief medication as we are also resorting to lukewarm salt water.

If the pain is caused by a tooth that will be present for a few more years then you may require to treat it by doing a filling or if the cavity is deep then pulp treatment may be required. Your dentist may take an X-ray and recommend antibiotics if required.
The medication his taking is good one . Now the problem is that where is the swelling, is it at the front position of the mouth or the back .
Try to give more details so a defiant condition can be understandable
It could be either an abscess due to a carious deciduous teeth or maybe due to new erupting teeth. Ibuprofen and warm saline rinse will relieve the pain but if it’s an abscess, you need to take antibiotic. Please provide a picture for better understanding of the condition. Thank you
