Switching cigarette

I used to smoke 2-3 cigarette in a day since 3-5 years, I recently switched to a lighter cigarette with different tobacco and low nicotin 1 week back and since then I am having excessive problem of dry cough. I do not want to switch back to a higher nicotine cigarette, what should I do?
