My father is having swelling of both ankles since 2 months He is diabetic but well controlled. Creatinine is normal What other tests should I do?

Hi It could be early diabetic nephrologist.. it can be treated and reversed if possible. Need to test his urine. Yes creatinine can be normal in stage 1.

Since how many years is he diabetic Please do a urine routine and urine protein creatinine ratio to see if there is protein leak. Also get a eye check up done to see if there is diabetic nephropathy
