Swelling near thumb
I have swelling near the base of my right thumb nail. This sweeping is since 10 days, I visited a general physician she tried to punture the area to see if any pus would come out but no pus was present . She administered tetanus shots and gave me pain killer. This was last week, the swelling has neither increased nor subsided. It pains when I touch the area, other wise no problems in daily activities . I am concerned pls suggested can I can do. What steps can I take before I visit a dermatologist. Thanks

Sounds like paronychia which is infection of the proximal nail fold. You can send pictures though online consult for prescription.
