Got a scar on my thumb
I had this scar on my thumb and i had rubbed it a little so it got red there.Could it be due to friction or press while driving scooty for longer distance or is it vitiligo im so concerned and worried about its Please help me understand and treat it.

Redness from rubbing and a whitish spot on the thumb after driving â this is almost certainly a friction/pressure scar, not vitiligo. Vitiligo starts as a flat, painless, non-itchy depigmented patch and doesn't appear suddenly from friction. Rubbing a healing area causes redness and can make the skin look lighter temporarily.
Next Steps
Stop rubbing the area. Apply a gentle moisturiser (coconut oil or Vaseline). It will heal on its own in 2â3 weeks. If the white patch spreads beyond the original area over the next month, consult a dermatologist. Consult me on Practo for reassurance.
