Swelling(lesion)in scalp
Intially doctor referred for an excision. But later it was postponed and doctor asked for a CT Scan and FNAC Test. CT scan came back normal. FNAC test shows myxoid neoplasm of neural origin. Doctor is now suggesting a major operation. I want to know is it cancer? If so,how safe is surgery?

Myxoid neoplasm means cancer. But a biopsy is better than fnac. The type of cancer is decided by IHC testing on biopsy tissue. The safety of surgery depends on weather it is limited to skin or is involving the bone.even in involving of bone weather both inner surface and outer surface or only outer surface. Inner surface is risky and needs neuro surgeon. The second part of difficulty is how to close the defect which a plastic surgeon will decide
Next Steps
please get a biopsy to characterize the tumor or excision
