Most of the time even after a month of voice rest and therapy, most patients end up needing surgery.....so the one month is for you to decide whether you are satisfied with therapy or you need the surgery to restore your voice. Remember, IF YOU NEED SURGERY, GO FOR IT....no ulterior motives here from the surgeon....if he had not given you the option of voice therapy however....things would have been different.
