Sugar level uncontrolled
My father(49) is having multiple fractures.he needs to be operated ASAP.he is a diabetic patient from past 5 years.he was taking Metformin.now he has been monitored with high bp also.He is taking following medicines right now- Amlodipine 5mg (1 time ) Envas 5mg(2 times a day) Insulin (12 BB-12 BL-10BD) Along with these medicines calcium ,iron ,serratiopeptidase,a antacid,vitamin tablets is also given to him.But his blood sugar levels are still uncontrolled.his sugar charting is(161-286-301)(BB-BL-BD). Blood pressure was 130/90 today.other reports are normal.Diet given is also diabetic friendly. Please suggest why his blood sugar level is still uncontrolled and what should be given to him and what should I do on my scale.

Hi, noted your concern. Ideally, at this situation, insulin is the best choice to manage his Diabetes. Insulin treatment plan always depends on the patient profile & their sugar patterns. It is always customized plan according to each & every patient. I would suggest you to be in touch with Diabetologist or endocrinologist nearby and get urself educated about the plan & protocols. First of all sugar medicines need to be stopped. As he's bed ridden and needs surgery, he should be exclusively maintained on insulin according to sliding scale. Frequent monitoring . You can get it in touch with me to send you complete protocols
