Stool for occult blood
My doctor give advice to me bring stool for occult blood test. What is the procedure before stool test. I am suffering from blood in stool and anal fissure disease. I was seen in internet some food items and medicines should be avoided before a stool for occult blood test. I am taking antibiotics antacid syrup and constipation syrup. Please tell me if it is necessary to avoid eating any food and medicine before to get stool for occult blood test.

If the amount of blood in stool is greater than 50 ml you have to get a stool test .
Better to avoid the following three foods and vegetables
1) Red meat lamb and beef
2) Vit c supplements
3) Raddish and turnips
4) pain killers
Next Steps
do get back with the results which is bound to be positive since you already have a fissure.
