If there is some blood leakage in our Intestine this type of problem occurs. Two elaborate if there is Dark red colour blood in stool likely due to leakage of blood from lower intestine.
If there is blood leakage from upper intestine, it takes some to reach lower intestine and to anus, so red blood turns to dark brown. I suppose this is what happening in your case.
There could be other reasons like Nutrition related drinking brown colour syrup, or protein shakes etc..,
