Standby Anesthetist during cataract
I shivered in the operation theatre during my cataract surgery so i was given a warm air blow during the operation so that my body doesnt chill. this time i am about to get my other eye operataed but the doctor said that there is no availibility of warm air so we will call a standby anesthetist. So i am worried as why anesthesia is requried for small operation like cataract?

First of all cataract is not small surgery. Meanwhile No anesthesia is required now a days.  Only is is standby mode for any requirement during surgery like high anxiety,  high BP. All surgeries done only with eye drops.
