Hello and good afternoon. Tenderness on the ribs(pain on pressing) is unlikely to be due to cervical spondylitis. More common reasons for it are deficiency of Vitamin D or Vitamin B12. Secondly, having numbness in your hand is not related to the rib pain. A new symptom of numbness can indicate worsening of your spondylitis or it could be due to vitamin deficiency.
Next Steps
I would advise you to get tested for serum Vitamin D3 and Vitamin B12 levels. If you've not had a full health check up recently, you should get it done as well. Once that is done, please consult a spine specialist to find the cause of numbness and start appropriate treatment.
Health Tips
If there is too much pain, you can take a painkiller, but only occasionally. Ice packs or hot fomentation, you can try both to see which helps better. If your symptoms are not getting relieved with all that, or getting worse, it's best to consult a doctor. Take care, and get well soon.
