Hi, I would like to know what MRI suggests. She shouldn't be doing back rest. Please put a cool pack on low back for 10 mi Ute's to subside the swelling deep in. On sides of spine where muscle is tight you can apply warm pack for 15 minutes.
Next Steps
Consult a Spine surgeon or a physio who is specialist in spine or a sports physio.

Probably she is having degenerative spine. Give her hot water fomentation, lumbar belt, tab acuvin two times a day for 5 days. Tab Gabapentin 300mg at bedtime for 7 days. Shall need to review.
Next Steps
consult a spine specialist if things don't improve or get worse
