There can be multiple causes It can be due to voice abuse (due to the habit of shouting) which can damage vocal cords It can be due to acid regurgitation to throat and subsequent LPR It can be due to chronic coughing, or the habit of smoking

It could be because of laryngopharyngitis. Betadine gargle three times a day. Steam inhalation. Voice rest
