Sore throat and now Cough

I had sore throat. Its better now. But i m having a cough now. Advise the medicines for the same.

Take warm water and food

Take any over the counter cough syrup like Alex 5 ml two to three times a day
If not better in 1_2 days then meet an ENT specialist
