Son diagnosed with cylindrical power
My son who is 6 years hold is having power as per follows
Right - (-0.5 SPH), (-1 CYL),( 170 axis),(27 PD)
Left - (no SPH), (-2 CYL), (160 axis),(27 PD)
Does he need to wear glasses at all time and do this power can be improved especially cylindrical power.

Yes. He has to wear glasses all the time, except while asleep. Go for routine eye examination every 6 months - 1 yearly.
