Some confuson regarding cataract surgery
My grandfather is having retina problem and he is on retina injection .all injections are given now his cataract surgery is to be done .
I want to ask that doctor has advised lens
156 Phaco with foldable IOL(Silicone and acrylic) PMMA IOL.
Please suggest that this lens is comfortable for patient taking accentrix injection.
Or any other please

Dear Sir for which retinal problem has he been given intravitreal injection.If its for diabetic retinopathy silicone lenses are best avoided as if he develops vitreous haemorrhage at later date it will be incompatible for vitreoretinal surgery. Hydrophobic acrylic lenses should be fine.
But still I would like to know for which condition he is taking accentrix.

It all depends on a lot of factors, also as long as its a monofocal IOL its good for patients with retinal disease.. multifocal lens is usually not comfortable for patients with retinal disorders. Rest PMMA IOL foldable should be fine for the patient
