Hello Dr.
Does covid impact our sleeping cycle? My mother currently recovering from covid. I noticed her unusal sleeping timing. Sometimes she use to sleep a lot more than 9 to 10 hours and sometimes she just sleep as little as 4 hours max. She is 56. It already her 39th day. Her BP remains in between 90-110/60-75. Is it because of her low BP? She did not have any bp related problem before covid. She is also taking VRXGold Q10 tablet daily.

Unfortunately yes it does affect your sleep cycle.
It’s due to the prolonged period of sleepiness , fatigue and altered melatonin secretion
Bp is alright , not of much concern .
Next Steps
1. Just help her to tire out by reading or light exercise
2. Give increased fluids and ors
3. If these doesn’t help , we can start low dose sedatives

Use mood lightening activities and watch comedy shows
