Dear Sir,
Thank you for your question. Etizolam is a short-term medication used primarily for anxiety and sleep issues. While it is effective, it is generally not recommended for long-term or repeated use due to the potential for dependence and withdrawal symptoms.
Since you're now facing difficulty with sleep after tapering off, it may be a rebound effect or indicate an underlying issue like chronic anxiety or insomnia that needs structured management.
Avoid restarting Etizolam on your own, especially without close supervision.
Next Steps
a. Consult your prescribing psychiatrist again. You may benefit from:
b. A non-benzodiazepine sleep aid (e.g. melatonin agonists, hydroxyzine)
c. Or better still, a cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) approach.
Health Tips
If anxiety is persistent, you may need a long-term plan, which might include SSRIs or other safer options.
Etizolam should never be restarted without medical review. Frequent use increases tolerance and may worsen insomnia long term. Focus on identifying and addressing the root cause of your sleep difficulties rather than depending on quick fixes.

Dear Patient,
Thank you for reaching out.
You followed the tapering instructions for Etizolam appropriately. However, difficulty sleeping after stopping Etizolam is a common issue, as the body may take some time to readjust.
Here’s what I recommend:
1. Do not restart Etizolam on your own — regular use can lead to dependence.
2. Try the following non-medication strategies first:
Fixed sleep and wake time
Avoid screen time at least 1 hour before bed
Light evening meals
No caffeine after 4 PM
Gentle physical activity during the day (like a walk)
3. If sleep issues persist:
We may consider a non-habit forming sleep aid (e.g., melatonin, short-term hydroxyzine, or low-dose antidepressants) depending on your profile.
A consultation is advisable to assess underlying anxiety, stress, or sleep pattern issues.
Next step: Please visit for a review consultation, or we can guide you further based on your symptoms and current health status.
Note: Do not self-medicate or continue Etizolam without supervision.
Take care,
