Skin Problem on Buttock
I have severe itching at times on my buttocks. It has been there since 6-7 months now. Initially the affected area was small. I didn't pay much attention at that time. Now the effected area has increased. Almost the whole buttock area is under small wounds caused by itching also the skin complexion has gone darker in that place. I have tried itch guard but no use. I used talc powder to keep the area dry. But at night after removing the underwear it starts itching again. What should I do ? Which kind of doctor should I visit ? It's a bit embarrassing as the affected area is under pants. Kindly suggest. Seems like some fungal infections.

Hello, from your description it appears that you have fungal infection. You will need dermatologist consultation for it as treatment includes both oral and topical medicines. Keep the area as dry as possible. Avoid self medication with OTC creams as they may contain steroids which can be harmful for skin and will prolong the infection. Hope this helps you.
