Diaper rash creams are usually for treatment rather than prevention of diaper rashes. And Rashes occur due to prolonged dampness . It is recommended that if there are eruptions/bumps, then avoid using diapers for a while, till the rash subsides, And the general dictum is to change the diaper every 3-4 hrs, regardless of soiling or urine in the diaper. No diaper should be used unchanged for more than 4 hrs. This will avoid all the bumps and rashes in the future.
