Shooting, sharp breast and nipple pain.

Asked for Female, 49 Years

I am a 49 year old female. For the past 6 months my left breast nipple has been sore and itchy - no drainage. I thought it was the detergent I'm using or my lace bras irritating it. Now I've developed sharp pains that start from my chest wall out my nipple - like a 4" needle is shooting out. It now wakes me up at night. What could this be?
