Sharp feet pain in mornin
When my wife wakes up in the morning and puts her feet on the floor and takes the first few steps, she usually have sharp pain on her feet. Its also swelled up a little. But after about 45-60mins the pain subdues and she feels relaxed. This also happens after she gets up from a chair after sitting for few hours. We got married recently and the problem started about couple of weeks back. Any suggestions please! Thanks, Rohit

Going through the symptoms, it can be possibly due to increased walking activity which creates inflammation at a point underside of the heel where the long toe muscles work to grip. Try overnight dressing with thoroughly stirred glycerine magnesium sulphate paste with guaze pads. Also try contrast foot bath ( warm foot bath with dissolved Epsom salt and then a cold water bath and ending in warm bath again) . Rolling a hard rubber ball with foot in sitting position helps in stretching the fascia and the muscles. Use of a silica gel insole in footwear preferably shoes can help preventing it getting more sore. If symptoms persist, consult a physiotherapist as the condition can be well managed with local antiinflammatory electrotherapy modalities like ultrasound or iontophoresis along with stretching protocols and taping.
