Hello sir, The possibility of saving a tooth depends on the clinical conditions and X-ray findings. Please attach that so that can tell a probable solution. And regarding Dental implant, the procedure hardly takes 15 to 20 mins. But giving prosthesis(tooth) on top of implant depends on many factors especially location. If it's front teeth an immediate acrylic crown can be given which can later be replaced by metal ceramic or zirconia crown. If it's single back tooth it's better to wait for three months after placing an Implant. Exceptions are there. And all this also depends on other clinical conditions and your general health status.

Health Tips
Visit as soon as possible because delaying may result in loss of the mobile tooth

Ideally a tooth that is very shaky should be removed. If the tooth was infected then a waiting period of 2-3 months after extraction is required for bone to heal. If the extraction was done more than 6 months back , one can go ahead with the implant.
Next Steps
An OPG X-ray and in some cases a cone beam CT is required for an implant. After checking it your dentist will guide you accordingly.
