Hello, I have been married for the last 4yrs and this is the first time I am facing this issue. Due to some family emergency situations I didn't have physical intercourse or masturbated for around 35 to 40 days. After the 40 days when I had physical intercourse the timing was hardly 2 to 3mins. Previously I could have held it at least 15 to 25mins with a kind of short pause or changing the positions. However now it's very quick and I can't even hold 2 to 3mins and I feel sperm also a bit less than previously.
What can be done?

Dear Practo User,
The issue as described you above is termed as premature ejaculation/early ejaculation. However judging yourself on the basis of Masturbation is not the correct way. As there is a difference between what you do with your hand and what you do in reality.
Also I would personally not recommend you to do Masturbation. As Masturbation may give you temporary satisfaction but may impact your sexual life. Also you have started developing issue of premature ejaculation.
There is a possibility that the tip of your penis might have become hyper sensitive.
Premature ejaculation (PE), when semen leaves the body (ejaculate) sooner than desired during sex, can cause distress and impact relationships, often stemming from psychological factors like anxiety or relationship issues, but can also be linked to physical conditions
However this issue is not a major cause to worry as much as there are medications and treatment available for the same.
If you genuinely interested in getting your issue resolved then you can contact me directly through google on my website or contact me through Practo. Would be happy to help you.

Hello, thank you for sharing this in detail. What you're experiencing is a very common and usually temporary response, not a serious problem. After a gap of 35â40 days without any sexual activity or masturbation, the body becomes more sensitive, and this naturally lowers the threshold for ejaculation â leading to quicker climax and sometimes a sensation of reduced semen volume. This is expected physiology after a long gap and is not a sign of any damage or dysfunction. On top of this, the stress from your family emergency is very likely playing a role too, since mental strain and preoccupation are among the most common causes of situational premature ejaculation. In my experience, this combination of prolonged abstinence plus emotional stress fully explains what you're going through, and it is not likely to be permanent.
Next Steps
Continue having regular intercourse â in most cases, timing returns to normal within 1â2 weeks as sensitivity resets. Try the "start-stop" technique or the "squeeze" technique during intercourse to help build control gradually. Try to relax and not put pressure on yourself to "last long" for the next few sessions â performance anxiety itself can make things worse. Focus on resolving or managing the stress from your family situation, as this has a direct bearing on sexual performance. If the issue continues beyond 3â4 weeks, or you notice pain, weaker erections, or a persistent drop in semen quantity, I'd advise an in-person consultation with a urologist/sexual medicine specialist for a basic physical and hormonal evaluation.
Health Tips
This is a common, self-limiting issue in my clinical experience and should settle down on its own with time. There's no cause for panic at this stage. That said, please don't self-medicate with over-the-counter products â if it doesn't improve in a few weeks, get evaluated in person.
A change from previously lasting 15â25 minutes to 2â3 minutes after a 35â40 day period without sexual activity or masturbation does not necessarily mean that you have developed a permanent sexual problem. After a period of abstinence, increased sexual excitement/sensitivity and performance pressure can temporarily shorten ejaculation time. The EAU also recognises variable ejaculation time as a normal variation, while acquired premature ejaculation can be influenced by anxiety, stress, relationship factors, erectile difficulties and other conditions.
The reduction in the amount of semen after one or a few encounters is usually not concerning. Semen volume can naturally vary according to the duration of abstinence, frequency of ejaculation, hydration and other factors. A single episode should not be used to judge fertility or sexual health.
Next Steps
For now, don't label yourself as having premature ejaculation based on this one change. Resume sexual activity gradually without putting pressure on yourself to reproduce the previous 15â25-minute duration. Allow adequate arousal and foreplay, and if you feel ejaculation approaching, temporarily reduce stimulation or pause and resume once control returns. If the problem continues consistently for several months, occurs with little control and causes significant distress, an assessment for acquired/variable premature ejaculation would be appropriate. The recommended evaluation of sexual history, perceived control and distress rather than relying on ejaculation time alone. Health Tips
Avoid repeatedly testing yourself by having intercourse just to see how long you can lastâthis can increase performance anxiety and make control more difficult. Maintain regular sleep, exercise, adequate hydration and a healthy routine, and avoid excessive alcohol or other substances before sexual activity. Most importantly, a temporary 2â3 minute episode after 40 days of abstinence is not, by itself, evidence of sexual weakness or permanent loss of control. If you subsequently notice persistent early ejaculation, difficulty maintaining erections, pain during ejaculation or a persistent change in semen, seek a proper sexual-health evaluation. Thank you
