Relax diaphragmatic breath (breathing with your abdomen). This will help bring an end to an anxiety attack. Calm yourself down. Calming yourself down will also bring an end to an anxiety attack…in time. Relax your body as much as you can. Relaxing causes your body to shut off the stress response, which will cause an anxiety attack to end…in time. Go for a walk. Leisure walking can shut of the stress response. Remember, anxiety attacks aren’t harmful. They are just strong reactions to worry and fear. Remember, anxiety attacks ALWAYS end. The more you calm yourself down, the faster they end. Reduce stress, increase rest, and give your body time to calm down. The more relaxed you are, the less likely it is you’ll have an anxiety attack. The most important is learning to stop scaring yourself with worry. Worry is the number one cause of anxiety attacks. Containing your worry – which we explain in the Recovery Support area – is a great way to eliminate problematic worry and anxiety attacks.

Hi What you’re describing sounds like long-standing panic disorder where the body has become highly sensitized over time. When panic continues for years, the threshold for triggering it becomes very low, which is why even small things now feel overwhelming. Medication like Provonal Forte may reduce intensity temporarily, but it does not retrain the brain’s fear response, so the cycle continues. The “shock in brain” feeling is a surge of anxiety and not actual damage, though it can feel very real and frightening. The good part is that even chronic panic disorder is treatable with the right structured approach. At this stage, the focus has to shift from just controlling symptoms to retraining your response to panic through therapy, especially CBT with exposure and interoceptive techniques. Avoiding sensations or trying to suppress panic actually strengthens it, while gradually facing and allowing it reduces its power over time. You don’t have to live like this even after 20 years, but it will require consistent, guided work rather than only relying on tablets. Panic disorder is very much treatable. Take therapy. Hello. If someone have diagnosed yo with Panic disorder and prescribed provonal forte it won’t work for long , as ( propanol and clonazepam combination) suppress the symptoms not heal the disease. In your case SSRI will work .
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist for it.

I understand how distressing and exhausting this must feel, especially when symptoms continue despite taking medication. Panic symptoms can sometimes persist or even worsen if the underlying treatment plan is not fully optimized. The “shock-like” sensation you describe can occur in severe anxiety states, but it’s important to evaluate whether your current medication, dose, or combination is appropriate for you. Since your symptoms have been long-standing and are increasing, this suggests that a reassessment of your diagnosis and treatment approach is needed rather than continuing the same regimen
