Cough after fever can occur due to various reasons. It is an inflammatory response that creates bronchial hyper-responsiveness, mucus hypersecretion and decreased mucociliary clearance. So the phlegm can be thick or thin, either or both depending on the site of origin. Kindly consult to get exact medication
