Hello, I have had sensorimotor OCD for a while now - which is about focusing on involuntary movements of the body obsessively like in my case - swallowing excessively and frequently. This condition of mine has been up and down to me. Sometimes when I am really happy and motivated, I tend to forget these and be completely normal. But sometimes when I'm alone I remember these things and severe anxiety kicks in and feel hopeless about life most of the time. This also affected my speech. Sometimes I can't finish talking small sentence without swallowing once or twice. This is embarrassing to me.
Because of this, I am thinking of trying medication - Fluoxetine 20 mg - that I found under the guidance of other peers having the same problem and a few doctors on the internet.
Do you think this is the right thing? If it is do prescribe me. I am also ready to have a consultation. Thanks.
