Self harm to release anger
Everytime i am stressed, i have this habbit to hurt myself. I either hit on my head with my hands (i have headache afterwards) or hit with all the energy on a wall, or door, or whatever i see..this ends up with small blue/red patches that heal in sometime. I do it only when no one is around. While i had this habbit since very long but it wasn't frequent.. once in blue moon i would break something or slap the table. But from past sometime this has become a usual thing...i hit myself when extremely upset and angry and later on i wonder why do i hurt myself. I have also noticed that i have started to stutter while speaking even when i am 100% sure of what i am speaking about. I have not discussed this with anyone and feel embarrassed to talk about this behaviour. Just FYI.. my husband has spotted me talking to myself which i realize only when he points it out. Can you help me?

Hello, Yes, your condition can be helped. However to understand the condition in detail as well as to plan a management strategy you will need to seek a consultation with a Psychiatrist near you. A assessment is definitely warranted in the condition as described by you. Please do not hesitate or delay in seeking help as delay can lead to complications. Deliberate self harm, stuttering, low self esteem all will need to be evaluated. However be well assured that your condition can be helped after a detailed understanding. Hope this helps you. Best wishes for your health and future.
