– Symptom Summary
I’m 22 and struggling with symptoms I believe are related to ADHD (likely inattentive type).
I experience constant brain fog, severe procrastination, and an inability to concentrate especially during tasks I know are important. I get easily distracted by my phone, forget things, and can’t break down or complete tasks properly. I jump between interests and can’t stay consistent with goals or routines.
My brain feels like it’s always on. It won’t stop overthinking, making up imaginary scenarios, or looping thoughts. Even when I want peace, my mind stays active and chaotic. I often feel mentally restless, unmotivated, overwhelmed, and disconnected from long-term goals.
Despite doing well in academics, I’ve been dealing with these issues internally for a long time. I’m looking for proper evaluation and ADHD-focused treatment (especially support with executive dysfunction and dopamine regulation).

It looks like you have a good grasp on what your symptoms are and how they might be affecting your daily functioning, which is good. There’s a number of things we’d need to rule out first before establishing an adult ADHD diagnosis in anyone
Next Steps
I suggest consulting a psychiatrist online/in-person in an official capacity. Preferably someone who’s willing to discuss the specifics of your problems.
Health Tips
Inattention can be especially problematic. I suggest setting small daily goals and rewarding yourself at the end of them. For example, a single task that you usually take a long time to finish can be divided into 3 parts with a specific “reward” at the end of each one: could be a screen time for 10 mins or an hour, or a walk around the house to get rid of the restlessness, whatever works for you. That way, you can try and stay on top of all your work while giving your brain enough time to refocus before moving on to the next (part of the) task.
